Early retirement has been a dream of ours for the past 5+ years when we first discovered the FIRE movement (Financial Independence Retire Early). While we've been working hard to get there (heavily investing and slashing our annual spending by adopting as much of a minimalist lifestyle as possible), we had never really placed a finite time limit on when we would actually take the leap... until now.
After this year's summer of adventure where we hiked and traveled throughout Europe, we decided in 18 months we are going to make our dream a reality and travel full time. The only question is - will we able able to afford to retire early by then?
We've broken down our entire thought process and finances here, including our annual income and expenses and all the options we've brainstormed so far that could help us reach our goal of early retirement. But we'd love to hear your thoughts and get additional perspective on how to make this dream a reality .... or if you think we're entirely delusional, we guess we'll hear you out on that too ;)
